Business Development Representative

Summary of Position:

The Business Development Representative is an integral member of the Commercial Sales team and directly contributes to VisitPay’s success by researching and developing qualified sales opportunities. The BDR is responsible for initiating relationships with prospective clients and optimizing team interactions. BDRs do this by identifying health system executives who may benefit from VisitPay products and services, leveraging all resources to connect with qualified leads, and scheduling meetings for Sales Executives to meet and further advance those prospective relationships.

The BDR has strong interpersonal skills, exceptional computer and research skills, and an innate talent for cultivating relationships. As a member of sales operations, this position collaborates with marketing and sales executives to create strategies for market leads, find prospective clients, and deliver qualified sales opportunities.

Key Activities:

  • Schedule meetings with prospects to gain an understanding and qualify as an opportunity
  • Schedule sales meetings for Sales Executives to meet with prospective clients, working towards weekly, monthly and quarterly goals
  • Leverage all available resources, including Salesforce, external sources (e.g. social media, healthcare industry database, news/magazine articles, web research, etc.) – to strategically identify and contact health system executives and organizations
  • Communicate with current and prospective clients via cold calling, email and social media
  • Follow up with inbound marketing leads within designated time periods
  • Maintain and update prospect records in Salesforce; update Salesforce with relevant research and scheduling information
  • Participate in continued BDR training and coaching sessions to hone demand generation skills
  • Attend sales team meetings and territory strategy sessions
  • Learn about and show passion about the brand, products, and services and clearly articulate our purpose
  • Help manage commercial operations, including lead analysis and management, reporting and optimization of CRM systems and processes
  • Valuing opportunities and engaging with sales team

Qualifications:

 Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Health Care or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • At least 1 year of sales or marketing work experience with new or installed clients
  • Salesforce experience required
  • Strong Office applications experience required

Preferred

  • 2 years of inside sales experience
  • Healthcare industry knowledge
  • Some working knowledge of marketing and the concept of lead generation
  • Experience with Pardot
