Summary of Position:

The Software Architect strives for excellence and enjoys mentoring talented individuals to success. The ideal candidate comes from a software engineering background and keeps up-to-date in modern software architecture patterns and processes. In the quest to make things better, faster and leaner, this person enjoys learning at a fast pace in an Agile environment to deliver value to customers: not expecting perfection but striving for it every day. This role requires technical breadth, including the necessary skills to write code/script, and an architectural mind to think about the entire solution and its design.

Key Activities:

  • Design secure, efficient and performant, high-quality software solutions
  • Be the key architect and designer for one or more major systems
  • Develop, promote and refine software development best-practices
  • Mentor other software development professionals
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineering, DevOps, IT and Security functions
  • Create and execute on an Architecture roadmap
  • Research new technologies and build proofs of concept
  • Develop and promote engineering best practices
  • Mentor junior software engineers
  • Split your time between planning, implementation, and getting your hands dirty
  • Continuously improve/rewrite/refactor our concept-to-production pipeline
  • Select and implement/optimize newer technologies such as Azure, AWS, C#, MVC, docker, Kubernetes
  • Be part of a disruptive startup in a highly secure enterprise space

  • A proactive thinker who makes data-driven decisions and can manage complex initiatives from conception to deployment
  • Ability to effectively manage and collaborate with remote team members
  • Enjoys learning across multiple disciplines; technical, business, process, and management

Qualifications:

  • Azure or AWS Experience, Azure preferred
  • Proficient in software architecture at a technology company, preferably in a broad role
  • Experience with Microsoft technology stack, ASP.NET MVC, SQL Server, C# in an agile scrum environment
  • Distributed computing technologies
  •  High-availability
  • Experience as a leader in software architecture, especially with an enterprise-type system dealing with finance, healthcare, or commerce.
  • Paas and Sass architectures
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, computer science, other related fields, or equivalent education, training, and/or work experience

  • This position is based in Boise, ID. Relocation assistance is not provided.
