Visual Designer


Reports To:  Manager of User Research & Design

 

FLSA Status: Salaried/Exempt


Summary of Position: As a talented designer creating elegant visual designs, the Visual Designer will use software, data and analytics to transform how hospitals help patients manage their healthcare expenses and how the company markets and sells its products.  

 

The Visual Designer will do their best work while collaborating with sales, marketing, engineering, product, research and data analytics. They should be comfortable being a generalist, including a skill set that spans all visual design mediums. While most work will be digital in nature, the designer will also be tasked with marketing or sales design projects which can include print or presentation design for business or consumer audiences. This individual will distill complex problems into thoughtful, elegant, and holistic visual designs. 

 

 Key Activities:

  • Thrive on translating complex problems and business requirements into high-quality, meaningful and engaging experiences.
  • Collaborate with UX design, product, marketing, sales, and research teams to quickly understand complex problems and develop design solutions that translate into elegant user experiences.
  • Design user flows, screens and interaction designs.
  • Design graphic collateral and content, including presentations, e-books, demonstrations and other assets that support commercial activities and marketing campaigns.
  • Maintain brand consistency and quality through all deliverables.
  • Be the voice of the user by supporting systems and processes that promote user-centered design practices.
  • Clearly articulate and present concepts to senior leadership and externally.
  • Work with research to design and produce prototypes for usability testing.

  • A self-starter who thrives on ambiguity

 

Qualifications:

  • A portfolio that demonstrates an ability to solve complex problems.
  • Mastery of design and prototyping tools (Sketch, InVision, Adobe CC).
  • Proven track record and a passion for designing compelling user experiences.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross functional teams.
  • An advocate for user-centered design.
  • An eagerness to learn and grow with VisitPay.
  • 2+ years of experience in multi-medium visual design.
